In January 2012, the District Municipality of Muskoka initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for a proposed transportation corridor north of the Town of Bracebridge urban area between Highway 11 and Muskoka Road 118. This long term transportation planning study will be carried out in accordance with the requirements for a Schedule ‘C’ project under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document.

The EA process for this project will involve identifying transportation problems and opportunities, developing and analyzing alternatives, assessing technical and environmental issues and proposing ways to address those issues, all leading to the development of a preferred design for the project.

Two public open houses have been held during the course of the study to provide an opportunity for the public to review and discuss the project with representatives of the Project Team.  The first open house was held in summer 2012, and the second was held in October 2013. Details about the open houses can be found under our “Consultation” tab”.
